New nutrient requirement guidelines were subsequently published January, 2007. The publication, if I do say so, is excellent. It covers and summarizes all available literature on goat research and makes recommendations on how to feed different classes of goats. I am pleased to have had the opportunity to be a part of the new committee.
SINCE THEN AND NOW
For the past 17 years, my research has focused on feeding goats. Poultry litter. Sorghum. Stovers. Cowpea Vines. Whole cottonseed. Pastures. Browse. Forages.
I have concentrated my research on trace mineral requirements of goats, especially trace mineral copper and related minerals including Fe,Zn, and Mo.
My passion is to develop a sustainable meat goat production system for small farms in the southeast and develop a year-round forage production system with optimum nutrient balance in soil and forage to produce healthy goats with minimum supplementation or input into the system.
