
This is another Swiss dairy breed from Toggenburg Valley, Switzerland. This breed is medium in size and a little smaller than other Alps breeds. The doe weighs at least 120 lbs., and the buck may weigh more than 200 lbs. It is known to be one of the oldest dairy breeds in Europe.
The Toggenburg is also known for being very sturdy, vigorous and alert. They perform best in cooler environments and produce great amounts of milk with average butterfat. The hair is short and the color is solid from light fawn to dark chocolate.
